About

Kids on Congas was born out of a love for music, a talent for facilitating others to make music and a particular ability to work with children and inspire them to experiment with different instruments. Most importantly, Kids on Congas is about having fun.

Craig Morrison is a professional multi-percussionist with over 25 years experience. He is endorsed by REMO (an international drumming icon) and has a passion for sharing his experience, expertise and energy with the younger generations.

A wealth of experience

Having studied with a long list of master drummers around the world, and in depth knowledge of Afro-Cuban drumming and traditions Craig has mastered the art of high energy drumming and continues to cause a frenzy on dance floors at music venues, festivals, weddings, corporate events and the like.

Entertainer to the celebrities

Craig has entertained Sir Richard Branson at 30,000 feet, has supported the likes of Vanessa Amarossi and Guy Sebastian, worked with Sydney & Bangarra Dance Companies and composed and recorded music for National Geographic. Currently working for a variety of entertainment agencies and with REMO endorsement Craig enjoys performing with Sydney's finest freelance artists.

A passion for drumming

Craig is passionate about seeing kids get inspired, excited and involved in drumming and drama, and using that to express themselves.
Over the span of his music career, Craig has run many music workshops for children, where it is all about getting the kids hands on and playing the instruments. Craig is highly skilled at making school incursions (or whatever the session may be for, be it mothers group, childcare centre, motivational events etc), any general kids workshop, something to remember with his high-energy, enthusiasm and natural ability to work with kids of all ages. There is never a child who walks away unhappy and some will talk about it for months.

Drumming for everyone

Craig has also been working closely with people who have varying degrees of intellectual and physical disability for over twenty years in both Australia and the United Kingdom. This includes running music/drumming therapy workshops for both adults and children with profound disabilities - from two to eighty years of age - with great success.
Music has a unique way of reaching people at all levels, from all walks of life, in a way that nothing else can. With his many years of experience, Craig is highly skilled in facilitating that excitement and getting the best out of people, hence the launch of Kids on Congas.

A Scottish Australian

Craig knows how to get the best out of kids, how to make them laugh, how to inspire them and how to get them playing and loving music.
Born on the west coast of Scotland, Craig landed in Sydney about 20 years ago and never left. He met a beautiful Australian woman who grew up on the Central Coast of NSW and they are now happily married.
With three gorgeous children Lopez, Zahli & Maceo, they moved back to the Central Coast to be closer to the family who have been on Coast for over 40 years now. Craig loves the Central Coast - it was the perfect place to launch Kids on Congas. So we have Craig - a Scotsman on the loose, who is at home playing Afro-Cuban drumming in Australia!
